Welcome to the Home of the underdogs

The underdogs are a rockin' band based out of Destin, FL specializing in original bluesy roots music & funky arrangements of vintage blues classics. Always a crowd-pleaser, the underdogs are known for their potent delivery and eclectic stage presence, all served up with a healthy dose of big fun.

Since the release of Unleashed, the underdogs have been fortunate enough to have garnered broadcast radio airplay and rave reviews from around the world. Unleashed, was named one of the Top 25 blues CDs of 1999 in Queensland, Australia. During the summer of 2001, Dog Tales, the band's second record, broke into the Top 100 on the national Americana radio charts.

In addition, the underdogs' music has been licensed by ESPN for use during coverage of Nascar from Daytona, featured prominently in actor/playwright Thom Gossom's one-man-play, Speak of Me as I Am and most recently heard in the soundtrack for the movie Quest for the Holy Ale.

The dogs have shared the stage with many great artists including Ritchie Havens, R.L. Burnsides, North Mississippi Allstars, Koko Taylor, Gove Scrivenor, Little Queenie, Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes, Annie Clements, The Woodys and Spencer Bohren to name just a few of our favorites from Nashville to New Orleans, Key West to Madrid, Spain & beyond.

Band history: The band has been working together since 1994 in different configurations. Over the years the underdogs have had the good fortune to include as bandmates some of the Gulf Coast’s finest musicians, including Bill Garrett, David Cousar, Shawn Curle, Pat Prichard, Diki Ross, David Pretlow, Jim Fuller, Tim Prescott, Greg Sander, Jim Garrett, Gene Burleson, Mark Purser, Jim and Case Cooper.
